If you max out a level 50 Moze and buy up a lot of SDU upgrades including Bank space and then make a new Zane character, I expect the new Level 5 Zane character will have access to the expanded bank, but not get any of the other SDU upgrades until they buy them too. Borderlands 3, 3 Characters = 50 Total Bank Slots. It may work the same way.
